Another rescue story, this time of Valentine, a little calico saved from euthanasia at the country shelter. We got her adopted . . . successfully, we thought, at the home of a county Sheriff. But the Sheriff had plans for Val . . . plans that included having her declawed, which was strictly forbidden in the contract he signed.
